Benefits of Turning Your Podcast Into a Blog Post

Author: Janae Strickland-Nunn

Sharing your podcast over multiple formats helps to meet your audiences' needs. One format that will help you gain more listeners is turning your podcast episodes into a blog post on your website. It's easy to do and has great benefits for your show.

  1. You can improve your SEO.

SEO is a way to get your show to the right audience. Search engines crawl articles and blog posts helping your episode content rank higher in search results. Also if you have any internal links in your show notes, it will send new listeners/readers to your old episodes. If people search for a particular topic that your podcast covers, you are likely to get twice the amount of hits. I tried this with one of my favorite podcast episodes and it increased the listens by 500, all because the search included my blog page and all the listening platforms that my podcast is located.

  2. It adds value and credibility to your podcast

Blogging your episode can help your audience see you as an authority. Look you spend too much time researching, planning, summarizing and editing your podcast not to be. Expanding the way you share your podcast content helps your audience understand your main ideas and helps you gain credibility. Establishing credibility through your podcast is a great way to become a leader in your particular industry.

  3. Get your brand out there

The rule of seven is an old but true marketing strategy. Basically people need to experience your brand seven times before they take action. The more they see it, the more they begin to trust in what you are offering. The more ways you can present your podcast the more likely people are to listen and subscribe.  Blogging your episode is another way to present your content to your listeners. Now they can hear it, read it and if you utilize social media, they can see it as well.

To be honest it probably takes people between 5-8 minutes to read through a blog article. Now you can turn one of your complex episodes into a deeper subject by adding more information.  You could quote and respond to influential people. Blogging is a necessary tool that can take your podcast to the next level.
